Gynie, it is over much quicker than the dentist and hurts less......
I'd like to go to the gynecologist but only because I want to see what it's like.
At the moment I have need for neither.
Question for you lot though. Who do you prefer, female or male gynecologist? Would I be correct in assumming female or do you like having a male playing around down there?
I think guys have a tough choice when it comes to something like this with the proctologist. Instinct would be to say female but then there's always the chance of arousal and whether or not she'd think we're a perv for enjoying it. But then the same issue arises if the proc was a guy and we'd be scared that they'd think we're gay and go to town.
Personally I'd prefer female because they have smaller fingers. In a story that I'd not like to get in to (no it's not sexual) I can say that a slender finger doesn't feel that bad up there.
My next question is do you think of something non-sexual when your gynecologist is doing their thing?
Just curious about stuff like this because I don't have a show in hell of experiencing a trip to the gynecologist on account of me being a guy.
LOL! I go to a female, and really can't imagine going to a man, although I have many friends who have no problem going to a man.
Sexual thoughts do not enter my mind, because the whole procedure is really uncomfortable and awkward, and the Dr. tries to make small talk while her fingers are stuck all the way inside you.
But you haven't heard my thoughts on the dentist yet, so this answer in no way tells you which I prefer!
Ugh! Don't like either, but would probably have to vote for gyn. I really like mine (female -LW) and it's over much faster. Also - a lot less pain!

So going to the gynecologist IS the same as going to the dentist.
For some reason they try to make small talk when they've got their fist in your mouth. :-)
Rather go to the dentist. And my dentist doesn't have any concept of painless dentistry.
loweded wookie, going to the GYN is probably the farthest thing from sexually arousing that you can imagine. It's pretty awkward from start to finish and sometimes painful. Trust me, there is no chance of arousal.
I go to a man gyn.
I hate all appointments, takes up too much time.
Gyn. first choice...I hate going to the dentist!
One good thing about the dentist is I finally I have a dental hygienist who doesn't make conversation while cleaning my teeth... : )

I prefer the gyn as well but that is because I like her anyways... And the appointment is pretty short.

If you were my dentist, I would always look forward to going to you! I'm sure you are gentle and sweet and caring; as you are all the time. Not to mention hot! (if I were into woman, I'd totally be at your office regularly. But alas, I am not)
I never answered my own question, but it is the gyn. I hate the scraping at the dentist. I sat in the chair for 90 minutes on Tuesday, and the scraping!!!!!! Of course, it was my fault for avoiding going for so long!
