Spring

The first day of spring is Monday
I used to love spring
Everything blooming
life beginning

Two years ago that changed
The countdown will soon begin
I wish I could skip right to summer

I think this year you will find a hint of positive in the spring. Spring itself is a little hopeful, a little looking forward, while reminders are all around of the winter & what came before...

Summer's not all it's cracked up to be. Hot as hell so much so that you become lethargic and cranky.

The way I see it, despite the bad that happened in spring (I'm picking that's when Joe passed judging by your post), spring should be a time for rejoicing as well.

My logic is going to sound bad. In my head it sounds good but my head's not like other people's as you've probably figured by now. Needless to say I mean this in such a way to try and help you to look on the bright side at a time that everything probably doesn't make sense. Anyway here goes.

Spring, as you say, is a time when everything blooms and life begins again. In your case it seems that a dear life has ended.

But the natural order of life and death is that even in death they give life. Joe has returned to the ground from whence he came and in return he creates new life around him.

He exists in your heart forever and ever but he also exists physically in the flowers and the grass and the trees around him.

I once read that atoms never die they just get redistributed throughout the air. If that's the case then maybe when you visit Joe with the boys you're all breathing him in. If that's true then Joe is inside of you all, all the time and thus he has never left.

I know none of this brings him back, as much as I would love to be able to do so. I just hope that when you look at the grounds around him, the flowers not only around him but elsewhere, you think of all the bees and butterflies carrying pollen that Joe is helping to make all that, just as we all will eventually. Spring would take on a new meaning.

LW, I like your way of thinking. It's very cool.

We shall see....
