Dinner At Our House
I always swore that I would be
the type of mother
who cooked one meal
for everyone
We would sit down
as a family
and everyone would eat
what was on their plate
No exceptions
Hasn't quite worked out that way
Somehow no one can agree on
what to have for dinner
and if T isn't here
I don't argue
Here's what the boys had for dinner
tonight

Hmmmm.... Last night, S had frozen waffles, N and I had leftover Chinese. Tonight, S and I had pancakes from scratch, and N had a can of chicken noodle soup.
More often than not, we eat different things. It's just easier. As long as I'm not REALLY preparing two meals, and as long as the boys eat relatively healthy balanced meals ... it's not a battle I have the energy to fight.
LOVE the picture :O)I agree with Pentha, pick your battles.
Actually a balanced meal if you think about it..... I won't even tell you what K eats for dinner, or any meal for that matter.....

i hear ya, but if you step back you'll see it's really a great meal - protein, fruit, whole grains... and if both boys ate the same meal then that actually sounds pretty darn impressive!

Cooking... what's that? My best friend at 5 is the microwave. I'm just happy if D sits long enough to eat some food.
With a glass of milk, you got the food groups pretty much covered -- kudos!
Although no one has written it up yet, I maintain that "no hassles" is part of good nutriton:)) -- and is diet friendly too!

Let's just say with my husband being out of the state, dinner time is a whole new ballgame around our house! I think your meal looks perfectly fine!
