I'm feeling super frustrated tonight. First of all, I got my financial aid package for preschool for next year. I will have both boys enrolled instead of just Jacob. They gave me almost nothing. It will cost me $29,000 for the year to send them to school! That's with the aid! I cannot afford that. Can anyone afford that? No wonder I feel so out of place when I'm around all the other moms at his school.

I also got a letter in the mail from grad school stating that I need to take 4 more classes to graduate! 4 more classes! But I have the credits I need. Clearly this is a computer screw up, so I emailed my advisor, who is also the head of the department, and has advised me through my last two years. The email bounced back saying she is on maternity leave this semester. So now I have to wait until Monday (Or Tuesday, b/c Monday is a holiday in MA), and try to figure out how to clear this up.

I'm frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe that price tag for preschool...c'mon, it's not Harvard! Yikes. And what bad timing on the letter from your grad school. No wonder you're frustrated.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! I'm so sorry. That truly sucks.

Wow! I'm so sorry. The cost of two in preschool is absolutely insane.

I've had issues with Lesley's computers... I hope you advisor or someone else in the department can help you out.

Thanks, anon. That's how frustrated I was feeling! I need an aide to help get me some financial aid.

And yes, the cost is crazy. Obviously this year I only had one attending, and I was given a decent package, but it was still pretty expensive. Next year's cost is not possible for me. I'll try to get it changed this week.

Does your high school offer a preschool program?

I have chosen the high school pre-school program for Cayden here the last two years. Although it is more socially focused, it is a multi aged program and I've been very pleased with the variety and opportunities that she has experienced.

Just a thought for a more affordable solution.

Anyone that would pay 29K for 2 kids in preschool is out of there damn mind.

Full year program, long extended hours, no surprise to me on the cost.

Doesn't make it any easier to swallow. Or to be able to pay for it.

You should be able to work with the financial aid department to get it reduced but I am fearful that it will not be enough. You may need to explore other options...including keeping them mainly at the sitter's and enrolling them in shorter day programs. Call if you want to discuss ideas/options.

You must be floored.

WOW!!! That seems really high! Especially with the assistance. I feel for you. I hope you can get something figured out.

That seems crazy..and that just stinks.

You will find something to make it work, but I wish it could just be easier for you.
