Has he learned the art of manipulation yet? When Jack knows I'm mad at him, I get the "I love you" or "You're the best mom ever" or "You're so pretty." But I haven't heard the "because you give me candy" line!!

Ahhh Jacob. Is there anything cute he hasn't come up with yet?
He didn't even seem remorseful after your wonderful little spiel about him. None of this "Oh, I was going to say 'Because you give me candy' but after that yours sounded so much nicer". Nope it was straight out with what was on his mind.
I think everyone can learn from this experience. No tip toeing just come out with it all. At least then we all know where we stand with each other.
BTW B, I love you because you are a wonderful person trying to make the best of a bad situation trying to raise two little boys who seem like a handful at times but who soldiers on despite the raw hand dealt to you. That makes you a strong woman and worthy of praise.

I love their logic at this age! A couple of weeks ago I told Vicki to sit on the chair and she said she cant, cause she is sitting on her bum:)
