Funeral City

I work in a school that seems to have a death related to it on a monthly basis. We have parents die so frequently that we have almost become numb to the news.

Last weekend, two seniors from the high school were killed in a car accident. One of them was the son of our school nurse.

Today was the funeral. It was the first funeral I had been to since Joe died.

And it was awful.

Kids are not supposed to die.

That's all.

I've been thinking about all of you guys at school. Such a terrible loss... it's sickening. I'm glad that you are all there for each other, especially at such a hard time.

Oh gosh...how awful. My prayers are with the family and friends.

You are so right. Kids aren't meant to die before their parents and it's so not fair on them.

I hate seeing kids hurt let alone die before they've lived.

Sucks that your school seems to be cursed. Can't make for a happy place to work when stuff like this seems to happen so often, especially so often that you become desensitised to it.

I was thinking of you last weekend when I heard this news. I was truly hoping somehow, it would pass your school by. I can't imagine a worse fate than losing your child.

I am very saddened by this news, but it is good to know you all can lean on each other.

I heard this on the news and read it in today's paper. My near 17 yr old (2 more days!) looked over my shoulder as I read. I just whispered to her "Drive safely."
Heart breaking.

That is heartbreaking. I'm so sorry for them. I think you were so brave to go to the funeral though. I have only been to one funeral by choice since my mother died 10 years ago. It was very hard.

That is awful, b. My thoughts are with the family and your school community as well.
